Speaking at the launch of the challenge for Scoil Na Mainistreach, Syl Merrins explained to the boys the importance of physical activity. He highlighted that they were already doing up to 40 minutes activity in school and to look for opportunities to add another 20 minutes per day walking, cycling, playing games etc.
The challenge requires boys to record the activities they take part in along with the time spent taking part in the activity for 21 days. The boys have each received a 21 Day Activity Challenge card (pictured above) to record activities and times. Parents are to sign off on the activities each night.
At the end of the challenge, Kildare Sports Partnership will present the boys with certificates in recognition of their achievements. Former Kildare footballer Johnny Doyle will present the certs to the boys at a special ceremony in the school hall.
