Inspired by a visit from Eliud Too last October, 4 days before he won the Dublin City Marathon the boys of Rang4SnaM have taken on a long distance running project of their own. The Lillywhite Lap will see the boys running laps of the Scoil Na Mainistreach building on a daily basis from Spring to Summer.
The overall aim of this project is to increase fitness levels, put into practice measuring skills learned in Mathematics and discover information about towns and villages around County Kildare.
They have measured the distance around the school at 400M, researched the distances between Celbridge and other towns around County Kildare, calculated the number of laps of the school required to run these distances and have taken off! Daily records are being kept of the number of laps run and total distances covered.
As boys approach the various towns and villages en route they will research information on these places and record various facts and findings.
