An baile seo gan mhórtas Níl aontas ann, Ná bí in éad liom Ach chuile cheann mar Dath bréig', cúlchaint, toitín a'inn sa scuaine Gloiní, pictiúir, réidh le glacadh dúinne 'cuma linn Bradán feasa ná taithí shaoil ach chuile dhuine mar Cristal, Maybech, seoda ar do chorp faoi Eadach, oileáin, duitse 'mháin don spraoi 'cuma linn Níl muid fuaite sa chlaonadh sin Is níl muid inár ríoga, ríoga Ní ritheann sé ionann An meon sin casta bun os cionn Tríd ár bfhéithe -- cuisle trom Lig dom bheith inár ríthe, ríthe Fanaigí liom ar an taobh, is feicfidh tú, is tú is tú, fillfidh muid ar ais arís Cairde linn - ar gcúis le bród Ó lá go lá ag druidim linn ar aghaidh Tá fhios ag chuile dhuine beo Gur seo mar atá Ár ndúchas taobh linn Ach chuile cheann mar Dath bréig', cúlchaint, toitín a'inn sa scuaine Gloiní, pictiúir, réidh le glacadh dúinne 'cuma linn Bradán feasa ná taithí shaoil ach chuile dhuine mar Cristal, Maybech, seoda ar do chorp faoi Eadach, oileáin, duitse 'mháin dhon spraoi Is cuma linn Níl muid fuaite sa chlaonadh sin F My Baptism
Date: Name: Where: Godparents: Priest: Celebration: Symbols: The You Tube clip below outlines the events of WW1 in 1918 Watch the remainder of the video for homework. In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place, and in the sky, The larks, still bravely singing, fly, Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead; short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe! To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high! If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
Every year we have a book fair in the school. On the days running up to the Book Fair every child will get a catalogue showing off most of the books they will be able to buy, they also get a World Book day voucher which lets you get €1.50 off anything that is over €4.You also have a chance to get a Golden ticket which is given to one boy in every class, you can win it from a book review, raffle or a picture of your favourite book character or just anything else to do with books. Children in the classes will be able to visit the book fair on Thursday the 2nd and Friday the 3rd. It officially begins Monday 5th to Wednesday the 7th. Thank you for reading this short summary about the book fair and don't forget to pop down and get a book or two.
