On the 20th of June Celbrigde under 11 hurling team went to Hawkfield. We won the division 2 under 12 hurling shield final. We played Eire Og in the final. The score was 5-8 to 2-4. It was a hard and close game. There was great points and goals in the match. There was a big celebration in the GAA club after the big win.
Sports Day took place yesterday for 4th Class boys. Organised as always by Mr Gavin, it took place in glorious sunshine. Boys took part in Tug of War, Obstacle Course, Penalty Kicks, Gaelic Kick, Novelty Races, Relay Races, 100 M and 200 M races and finally the long jump. It was a very enjoyable day with everybody doing their best in each event and helping their own coloured team win as many points as possible. Congrats to David from our class who played for the school hurlers in their victory over Naas in the Cumann Na mBunscol final yesterday. This is the first time in 10 years that we have won the U-13 Hurling final and we are very proud of David and all the boys on the team and the Teachers in charge Mr Curtin and Mr Bracken. The boys went on a victory parade today in front of the whole school during Sports Day. Click on the link below to see footage of the parade with some famous music playing for the boys in the background.
VICTORY PARADE On Saturday some boys went to An Ríocht in County Down. The main teams were Celbridge, An Ríocht and Rossa Óg. We had two teams. One team made it the cup final and the other team made it to the shield semis. Celbridge shield team should have won the semis but didn’t. It was a good game but there were lots of fouls.
Our cup team lost in the final to Rossa Óg. It was a close game and a goal in the last minute for Rossa Óg meant they were winners by one point. We had a great day and really enjoyed it. |
